Course Rating5/5

Unit testing with PHPUnit training focuses on equipping participants with the skills to write and execute unit tests for PHP applications using the PHPUnit testing framework. The course covers essential topics such as setting up PHPUnit, creating test cases, and understanding assertions to validate expected outcomes. Participants learn to write testable code, organize tests in suites, and use mock objects and stubs to isolate components during testing. Hands-on exercises allow participants to practice writing unit tests, debugging failing tests, and integrating PHPUnit with CI/CD pipelines. By the end of the training, attendees gain the expertise to implement reliable, automated unit tests that enhance the maintainability and quality of PHP code.

Basic knowledge of PHP programming.
Familiarity with object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
No prior experience with PHPUnit or unit testing required.

Upon completion of this course, participants will:

Understand the core principles and importance of unit testing in PHP.
Learn to write and execute unit tests using PHPUnit framework.
Develop skills in testing PHP code, validating assertions, and handling edge cases.
Gain an understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and how to implement it with PHP.
Learn how to mock dependencies and isolate code for effective unit testing.

Unit Testing with PHPUnit: Understanding of PHPUnit framework and how to write unit tests for PHP applications.
Test Automation: Ability to automate unit tests and integrate them with CI/CD pipelines.
Test-Driven Development (TDD): Knowledge of how to use TDD to improve code quality by writing tests first.
Mocking: Ability to use mock objects to isolate external dependencies and test in isolation.
Assertions and Error Handling: Skill in using PHPUnit assertions and handling errors effectively in tests.

Participants will be assessed on:

Understanding Unit Testing: Ability to explain unit testing concepts and apply them using PHPUnit.
Test Writing Skills: Ability to write and execute meaningful unit tests for PHP code.
Test-Driven Development (TDD): Ability to apply TDD practices in PHP development.
Mocking and Isolation: Skill in using mock objects for testing isolated code.
Test Assertions: Proficiency in validating test results using assertions.

Certificate of Completion: Participants who attend all sessions and successfully complete the course assessments will receive a ProgNXTCertificate of Completion for Unit Testing with PHPUnit Essentials Training.
